When is it important to get color scans?

Most applications don’t require color scans because people normally uses a 3D Scanners to acquire measurements off an object. 3D scanners are capable of capturing high quality color and texture information of an object if color scans are required to capture true likeness of the object. The scanner would require color cameras to take scans in color.
